A Message from Excelsior Arms Security Services, LLC
In the aftermath of the tragic terrorist attack on Bourbon Street in our city on New Year's Day, our hearts are heavy with sorrow. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who lost their lives, and our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured and are now recovering in area hospitals. As a former Law Enforcement Officer, I want to especially extend well wishes for a speedy and full recovery to the heroic first responders who selflessly placed themselves in harm's way to protect and serve the citizens and visitors of this city, neutralizing the threat to prevent further loss of lives. This senseless act of violence has left an indelible mark on our community, and we stand united in our grief and resolve.

Our CEO, a proud New Orleans native and former U.S. Navy veteran, brings over 40 years of combined experience in law enforcement, emergency preparedness, and school safety & security administration. Chief Robert J. Mitchell Sr., a former OPSB School Safety & Security Professional, brings over 40 years of combined experience in law enforcement and school safety. Serving as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the Chief of Security, this distinguished veteran played a crucial role in leading, guiding, and restructuring the OPSB Department of Security & Investigations pre-Katrina. This department, consisting of 228 Special Officers, was responsible for the safety of 64,000 K-12 students and 7,500 teachers and administrators within the largest Public-School System in Louisiana, which includes 128 school sites—a challenging endeavor.
Chief Mitchell's dedication, hard work, and no-nonsense approach, combined with his networking skills with the Clayton County and Cobb County, GA, School Districts, and the implementation of strategic initiatives, officer reassignments, and redistricting, led to significant success. Within a few months, the department's strengths and weaknesses were assessed, proper manpower and supervision were assigned to address issues at troubled schools, officer absenteeism was reduced, response times to incidents and calls for service decreased, and detail assignment guidelines were restructured to be fairer and more equitable for all officers.
The noticeable effectiveness of these changes garnered praise from School Board Members, and the Superintendent of Orleans Parish Public Schools.

Congratulations From Vice President Al Gore
OPSB School Security Special Officer R. Mitchell receives congratulations from U.S. Vice President Al Gore in 1996 for being recognized as a Role Model for his contributions to the students and faculty @ Chester Elementary School.
Officer Mitchell was also congratulated for assisting FBI Special Agent In Charge Louis Freeh, and his agents with establishing a Junior G-Man program at Chester Elementary and commended, along with NOPD 6th District Officer Djuana Adams, for their dedication and accomplishments as the first unofficial (SRO) School Resource Officer team in the NOPD's 6th District, the toughest school district in New Orleans.

Our Professionally Marked & Unmarked Mobile Patrol units are a highly effective visual deterrent. Equipped with strobe lights & high-intensity spotlights, our Police Interceptor CVPI units are used to conduct active, random, and directed patrols. As a proactive tool these units are great for conducting surveillance, and detaining subjects until the arrival of police, or for moving unauthorized persons off-site.
